Reading Ahead

Chapter 39: pages 1042- 1048
We will not read Oedipus as a class, but it's important to understand the conventions of Greek Drama and Tragedy.

Chapter 40:  pages 1100 - 1109 .
Similarly, I want you to have the information about Shakespeare's Theater.

It is difficult to teach Shakespeare or any drama online, but I encourage you to rent a video version of any Shakespeare play, so that you can see a "staged" version.

Chapter 41 pages 1200-1204 (up to but not including A Doll House).
The introductory pages to the chapter will help you understand the conventions of modern drama.
